i have cod4 on my computer and i was changing the settings and i put the screen refresh rate from 75Hz to 50Hz and now when i open it .. the screen goes all pixulated and i cant see the menu so i have to close it ... can anyone tell me how to get it to work ? thanksMy cod4 is messed up please help!!?
Change it back to 75Hz ?
Right click desktop
Personalize
Display Settings
Make sure your colours are 32 bit and the slider is all the way along
Now click advanced settings
Monitor tab
Change the screen refresh rate to 75Hz
Click ok
Did that help ?
Also make sure that your graphics aren't running in safe mode. When CoD finds an error it asks to run the graphics in safe mode, and this may be what is causing the bad effects. My cod4 is messed up please help!!?

Monitor not specified available video resolutions?
Hi my Monitor is a VIZIO tv and every time i try playing a game it tells me that the mode is not supported and after weeks of trying to fix it i found out it is my screen Refreshing rate and my Monitor is telling the computer that it is ok to use this one but it is not and will not work so i keep having to go into the files of the game and changing them from notepad but not all games are EASY to do that on how can i fix my monitor?Monitor not specified available video resolutions?
You can't. The best way to fix that problem is simply to lower your refresh rate to the refresh rate of your TV. You can do this by right clicking on your desktop and clicking Properties. Go to the Settings tab and click the Advanced button. Go to the Monitor tab and change the refresh setting to the setting one step above when your tv starts flickering.

When is this thumbs issue going to get fixed?
Each time you refresh the page the thumb ratings change. Is this a bug? Why is it happening? Is it ever going to get fixed? That is how I rated my answersWhen is this thumbs issue going to get fixed?
When Yahoo Answers updated about a week ago, there were some glitches that hung around, and some of them are still out there - such as the rating and voting issues.
No one knows when it will get fixed (I don't even think Yahoo themselves have the foggiest clue) so for now we will just have to deal with it.
Good luck. When is this thumbs issue going to get fixed?
They had a message recently on the main page about unexpected downtime which they were working on. The voting is still wrong with some answers having 100% then 0%. Various other glitches too..It often happens after maintenance but it is going on more than usual. Hopefully they will fix it soon.

Help with video driver?
On my main and newer computer, my video driver (NVIDIA) grants me the options to adjust the color correction and sharpness of my screen. On my secondary computer, which is a Dell Dimension 3000, only allows me to adjust screen refresh rate, resolution, etc.; I downloaded the video drivers directly from the dell website, so they are up to date. How can I change the color correction and sharpness on my Dell? Please provide me with a link to a compatible driver that will allow me such options.Help with video driver?
generic dell drivers usually don't give you many options because the driver is for video that is built onto the motherboard. Nvidia is an actual graphics card that has drivers to completely customize your card and display settings. you may not have another option for your dell unless you add an actual graphics card

How can i fix my video card freezing with CCC?
First you probably want do know what CCC is, well CCC is Catalyst Control Center. This is like the display settings window built into your system, but instead this got installed for the new video card i got.
The control center is useful, it has a whole bunch of things that can be changed around and adjusted.
I wanted to know if you can adjust something in the ccc, so that when my system changes resolution, the system wont freeze. Because everytime i play a game for example, the system freezes very soon after the resolutuion changed. I found this nifty thing in the ccc, it says that my monitor has a max resolution of 1440x900, i think that this may be causing the problem. However, even when changing the resoultion to a smaller setting, my system still freezes. So do i need to change resolution?
Next, i found that my monitor has a max refresh rate or 75 Hz. I do not know what happens when i play games. Its possible that that refresh rate becomes too high and my monitor cant handle it. This is also a possibility but i dont know...
Lastly the ccc has a 3D refresh rate override, i do not know what this is but this is also one of my bets that it could be causing the problem. The ccc says: By default, some full screen applications operate at a refresh rate of 60 Hz, instead of the desktop refresh rate.
~back to me now- the 3D override gives me many options to change the Hz, ranging from 30 to 200. My current set Hz for 3D override is 75, should i lower or higher this?
Those things above are my most likely answers, but if not ccc has other things that can cause a problem, i will list:
1- ccc has an option that says: For displays of limited resolution capabilities, select either:
-List only those modes supported by all displays
-Only allow panning on limited-resolution displays
-List all possible modes(including panning modes)
~me againg- so what does panning mean, does it cause a problem with resolution?
Lastly, some more options in ccc are
-Anti-alliasiong (currently set to 4x)
-Anisotropic Filtering (no idea what this is, currently set a 4x)
-Wait for vertial refresh ( i dont know what this does, but its set a off, i can adjust on or off)
-Adaptive anti-aliasing (improves quality, currently off)
- OpenGL settings: Tripple buffering, improves the frame rate of games when vertical sync (V-Sync) is enabled and the frame rate is less than the refresh rate.
Thats it for now, there is much more to ccc, but i dont think they pertain to my problem. I know this is super long but im desperate for answers, please help me!!How can i fix my video card freezing with CCC?
Always use the native refresh rate based on your monitor not the max refresh rate.

Why is my monitor flickering?
I just got a new graphics card, an ATI Radeon HD 4850. Installed it fine. But now my monitor has a noticeable flicker on the screen. I think it is due to the refresh rate, but all of the places where i can change it to 60Hz, i have done so, such as in the ATI control center and under Properties%26gt;Settings%26gt;Advanced. I dont know how to fix this problem at all. It was a tight squeeze to get the card in my case, could it be cause the physical card is touching something? Oh and i have my resolution at 1440x900. It's a 19 inch widescreen. Why is my monitor flickering?
Check the connections (power and to the comp to make sure that they are snug. Also, try and reinstall the graphics and monitor drivers. Why is my monitor flickering?
Found out the reason for this problem, it was a setting in my ATI Catalyist software i had to change. thanks for the help anyways.
in wrong?
Cables plugged in tight?
its your video card, get a new one from nVidia
is your cell phone near the screen?
either your connection is bad or you need too reset your router. Or maybe it's not plugged in right. If it's thats not it then get it checked out
try to lower your resolution or update the card driver.
I would first of all try the pc with a different monitor, , do you have a spare, or a friend with a spare (even a crt monitor will do )
If the problem persists with a different monitor then it definetly the card.
I would uninstall the card and drivers, , then reinstall them all again.
You could also run the card at a lower resolution and if the problem disapears, then up the resolution bit by bit.
But if all this doesnt resolve the issue, , its definetly the refresh rate that need attending to.
