How come when i play a video on iTunes, its slow and jumpy?

iv downloaded a few videos and when ever i play them, the stop and go and stop and go and stop and go. i have 645 mbs of RAM and i had no other programs running. is there any place in the options that i can change the refresh rate or another option to fix this problem (i did this with halo. at first it was very jumpy. i changed the refresh rate so it was lower and now the game runs like a charm)?How come when i play a video on iTunes, its slow and jumpy?
i think that ur computer might need a faster processor and more memories. and u should be able to find the refresh rates in the preferences menu and then click on the video tab.How come when i play a video on iTunes, its slow and jumpy?
i run my itunes video in quicktime, which appears to stop the jerkiness (unless its on fullscreen), i have a 2 GhZ amd sempron processor, with only 128k cache, i think the small cache size is my bottleneck, but other video players work fine on my machine, its just itunes that is jerky
